| Description | Failed to provide suitable, sufficient, and necessary lavatories and washbasins in the vicinity of work areas. During our inspection of the Arbroath installation between 21 and 23 February 2024, it was identified that there was only one external toilet for use by the 27 personnel on-board (POB). This single toilet is not deemed suitable for the use by 27 persons or the maximum POB of 33, especially as it is sited in or next to a permitted smoking area, resulting in non-smokers being exposed to tobacco smoke. In a communication related to your safety case Material Change 2020/21 ‘Arbroath Accommodation HSE Rev 2’ document of 2020 you specifically stated how poor the current sanitary facilities were and assured HSE of your plans to improve the area, which has not been completed. You stated the following: “. There is only a single external toilet on Arbroath and is in desperate need of replacing with new. During W2W campaigns a cabin is given up to provide additional facilities. . Dirty Tea Shack / Smokers (which includes the single toilet). This is in need of repair / upgrade”.
